??\u00a0My first month of volunteering is nearly over. At the beginning i felt a lot of confusion about the tasks im going to carry out during the project, but in the end of the first week i was reliefed. Everything turned out to be joyful and doable.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At first we focused on getting to know the camino. I found so many beautiful places in the nature. While we walked the camino we generated ideas about the tasks we want to carry out in the camino. One of the first ideas was obviosly to collect trash and make posters\/reminders for piligrims to encourage them to find containers instead of throwing trash in the nature. We also found big trash like wasching machines, microwaves, beds and furniture in the middle of nature. It was schocking to find these things and i felt good after we reported it to the city council. While doing the activities about sustainability i learned to notice problematic places in the nature, understood the need of more containers and how little a lot of piligrims care about the sustainability.<\/span><\/p>\n

While doing the activities with people with disabilities I felt only positive emotions. These people were really welcoming and friendly. I enjoyed painting the walls at their center. We also went on a walk in the camino with them. It was inspiring to see how much they wanted to walk and enjoy the journey.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I have also enjoyed working at the piligrim hostel. It is really interesting to meet people from different countries and talk with them. Last time we worked there we had to be the guardians of the showers, because a nun wanted to take a shower but nobody cant see her while doing it. She was really kind and asked us nicely to help her. It was a weird experience, but we are here to help the piligrims and make them comfortable.<\/span><\/p>\n

Overall my experience here has been really interesting and improveing. I am more open with the strangers, I can walk a lot without complains and I am understanding more and more why people decide to do the Camino de Santiago.<\/span><\/p>\n

?? Mi primer mes de voluntariado est\u00e1 termin\u00e1ndose. Al principio sent\u00ed mucha confusi\u00f3n sobre las tareas que iba a realizar durante el proyecto, pero al final de la primera semana me sent\u00ed aliviada. Todo result\u00f3 ser alegre y factible.<\/p>\n

Al principio nos enfocamos en conocer el camino. Encontr\u00e9 tantos lugares hermosos en la naturaleza. Mientras hac\u00edamos el camino generamos ideas sobre las tareas que queremos realizar en el camino. Una de las primeras ideas fue, obviamente, recoger basura y hacer carteles\/recordatorios para los peregrinos anim\u00e1ndolos a encontrar contenedores, en lugar de tirar basura en la naturaleza. Tambi\u00e9n encontramos basuras grandes como lavadoras, microondas, camas y muebles en plena naturaleza. Fue impactante encontrar estas cosas y me sent\u00ed bien despu\u00e9s de informarlo al ayuntamiento. Mientras hac\u00eda las actividades sobre sostenibilidad, aprend\u00ed a notar lugares problem\u00e1ticos en la naturaleza, entend\u00ed la necesidad de m\u00e1s contenedores y lo poco que a muchos peregrinos les importa la sostenibilidad.<\/p>\n

Mientras hac\u00eda las actividades con personas con discapacidades, solo sent\u00ed emociones positivas. Estas personas fueron realmente acogedoras y amigables. Disfrut\u00e9 pintando las paredes en su centro. Tambi\u00e9n dimos un paseo por el camino con ellos. Fue inspirador ver cu\u00e1nto deseaban caminar y disfrutar el viaje.<\/p>\n

Tambi\u00e9n he disfrutado trabajando en el albergue del peregrino. Es muy interesante conocer gente de diferentes pa\u00edses y hablar con ellos. La \u00faltima vez que trabajamos all\u00ed ten\u00edamos que ser los \u201cguardianes\u201d de las duchas, porque una monja quer\u00eda ducharse pero nadie pod\u00eda verla mientras lo hac\u00eda. Ella fue muy amable y nos pidi\u00f3 amablemente que la ayud\u00e1ramos. Fue una experiencia extra\u00f1a, pero estamos aqu\u00ed para ayudar a los peregrinos y hacerlos sentir c\u00f3modos.<\/p>\n

En general, mi experiencia aqu\u00ed ha sido muy interesante y ha mejorado. Soy m\u00e1s abierta con los desconocidos, puedo caminar mucho sin quejarme y cada vez entiendo m\u00e1s por qu\u00e9 la gente decide hacer el Camino de Santiago.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
