?? The fifth week of volunteering is almost done. This week was really educating and productive.<\/p>\n
On tuesday we worked at the office. We planned activities for this and next week. We searched ideas what to craft with children. Some of us worked at the piligrim hostel as usual. This day was good to brainstorm ideas and have conversations about the midterm evaluation.<\/p>\n
Overall it has been a more than productive week, not to mention exceedingly rewarding as per usual. I think that after the constructive sharing of our collective thinking during the midterm evaluation, we were able to brainstorm ideas more effectivelly and by consequence, our impact is now even greater.<\/p>\n
Part of our activities took a more practical turn. We visited a centre for disabled people that gave adequate knowledge to know how to interact and contribute to the accessibility for people with various disabilities, ranging from motor all the way to cognitive. It is very interesting, considering that many people do not realise how a person, who for exampole, might be somewhere on the spectrum of autism might face a variety of difficulties from soemthing as mundane as “seemingly self explanatory” signage. We feel way better equipped to carry out aour mission after having been provided with such invaaluable infomration. The poeple at the centre seemed very enthusiastic to be working with us and we, of course, share the sentiment.<\/p>\n
We are looking forward to acquiring ven more knowledge and hopefully make a lasting impact on the accessibility and the inclusion of every single person into something that has been deemed a normal society by ignorant people.<\/p>\n
We hope that the weeks to come will be equally as reewarding and impactful!!<\/p>\n
?? La quinta semana de voluntariado est\u00e1 casi terminada. Esta semana fue realmente educativa y productiva.<\/p>\n
El martes trabajamos en la oficina. Planeamos actividades para esta y la pr\u00f3xima semana. Buscamos ideas sobre qu\u00e9 hacer con los ni\u00f1os. Algunos de nosotros trabaj\u00e1bamos en el albergue peregrino como de costumbre. Fue un buen d\u00eda para intercambiar ideas y tener conversaciones sobre la evaluaci\u00f3n intermedia.<\/p>\n
En general, ha sido una semana m\u00e1s que productiva, por no mencionar sumamente gratificante como de costumbre. Creo que despu\u00e9s del intercambio de las distintas formas de pensar de manera constructiva y colectiva, durante la evaluaci\u00f3n intermedia, pudimos intercambiar ideas de manera m\u00e1s efectiva y, en consecuencia, nuestro impacto ahora es a\u00fan mayor.<\/p>\n
Parte de nuestras actividades tom\u00f3 un giro m\u00e1s pr\u00e1ctico. Visitamos un centro para personas con discapacidad que brindaba los conocimientos adecuados para saber interactuar y contribuir a la accesibilidad de personas con diversas discapacidades, desde las motrices hasta las cognitivas. Es muy interesante, considerando que muchas personas no se dan cuenta c\u00f3mo una persona, que por ejemplo, en alg\u00fan lugar del espectro del autismo, podr\u00eda enfrentar una variedad de dificultades desde algo tan mundano como la se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n “aparentemente explicativa”. Nos sentimos mucho mejor equipados para llevar a cabo nuestra misi\u00f3n despu\u00e9s de haber recibido informaci\u00f3n tan valiosa. La gente del centro parec\u00eda muy entusiasmada de trabajar con nosotros y, por supuesto, compartimos el sentimiento.<\/p>\n
Esperamos adquirir a\u00fan m\u00e1s conocimiento y, con suerte, tener un impacto duradero en la accesibilidad y la inclusi\u00f3n de cada persona en algo que la gente ignorante ha considerado una sociedad normal.<\/p>\n
