My name is Domant\u0117<\/strong> (you can call me Doma), coming from a very green and clean Baltic country Lithuania. In the past years I have been working as project manager and youth worker. This job has opened a lot of doors for me and allowed to travel many countries, as well as meeting new people and cultures. From my studies of English and Italian literature to all the EU-funded projects I have been participating in, I have been learning about the diversity of the world and reflecting on myself as an individual and a citizen. Non-formal education opportunities offered by different ERASMUS projects have indeed influenced my personal and professional life in a big way. This is a learning environment, in which you are encouraged to be your authentic self, you are not punished for making errors and your hobbies and passions are welcomed and appreaciated.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Speaking about hobbies<\/strong>, walking or trekking has been one of my favourite activities since I was a teenager. I had participated in a touristic camp for many years, in which we would walk for a week (every day around 30km) and camp in different areas of my country. From the early age I comprehend the power of walking on our physical and mental health. I can testify that walking can help with anxiety, stress and negative thinking. Recently, I started to be interested in the spirituality of trekking. That is how the idea of walking in Camino de Santiago came into my life. Therefore, when I noticed European Solidarity Corps volunteering opportunity in Xacobeando, I thought that this is a beautiful way to get to know Camino and offer my contribution to it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>It has been 10 days of my staying here in Galicia,<\/strong> as I am writing this post. So far, I have participated in on-arrival training in Santiago de Compostela, moved to my home for the following 2 months in Ferrol, walked a small route in the English Camino from Neda and did a clean-up with my team. Mi nombre es Domant\u0117<\/strong> (puedes llamarme Doma), vengo de un pa\u00eds b\u00e1ltico muy verde y limpio, Lituania. En los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os he estado trabajando como coordinadora de proyectos y trabajadora juvenil. Este trabajo me ha abierto muchas puertas y me ha permitido viajar por muchos pa\u00edses, adem\u00e1s de conocer gente y culturas nuevas. Desde mis estudios de literatura inglesa e italiana hasta todos los proyectos financiados por la UE en los que he participado, he aprendido sobre la diversidad del mundo y he reflexionado sobre m\u00ed misma como individua y ciudadana. Las oportunidades de educaci\u00f3n no formal que ofrecen los diferentes proyectos ERASMUS han influido en gran medida en mi vida personal y profesional. Este es un entorno de aprendizaje, en el que se anima a ser aut\u00e9ntico, no se castiga por cometer errores y tus aficiones y pasiones son bienvenidas y apreciadas<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hablando de hobbies<\/strong>, caminar o hacer trekking ha sido una de mis actividades favoritas desde que era adolescente. He participado en un campamento tur\u00edstico durante muchos a\u00f1os, en el que camin\u00e1bamos durante una semana (todos los d\u00edas alrededor de 30 km) y acampabamos en diferentes zonas de mi pa\u00eds. Desde temprana edad comprendo el poder de caminar sobre nuestra salud f\u00edsica y mental. Puedo asegurar que caminar puede ayudar con la ansiedad, el estr\u00e9s y los pensamientos negativos. Recientemente, comenc\u00e9 a interesarme por la espiritualidad del trekking. As\u00ed lleg\u00f3 a mi vida la idea de hacer el Camino de Santiago. Por eso, cuando me di cuenta de la oportunidad de voluntariado del Cuerpo Europeo de Solidaridad en Xacobeando, pens\u00e9 que esta es una hermosa manera de conocer Camino y ofrecer mi contribuci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Han pasado 10 d\u00edas de mi estancia aqu\u00ed en Galicia<\/strong>, mientras escribo este post. Hasta el momento, he participado en la formacion a la llegada en Santiago de Compostela, me he mudado a mi casa durante los siguientes 2 meses en Ferrol, he hecho una peque\u00f1a ruta en el Camino Ingl\u00e9s desde Neda y he hecho una limpieza con mi equipo.
