??\u00a0Last week literally flew by without noticing – between the work to be done in the office and outside it. We went to Pontedeume, where we successfully “caught” the first pilgrim for a short interview of a couple of minutes. We also ate super tasty traditional Spanish tortillas. Another activity\u00a0 with other volunteers we participated in a small garbage collection campaign along the sea coast of Caranza, nice, right?<\/p>\n
August 15th (el D\u00eda de la Asunci\u00f3n o d\u00eda de la Virgen) is a day to be celebrated in Spain, so we didn’t waste a day and together with the volunteers from Palas de Rei went on a short hike to Ermita de Chamorro, what is \u00a0located on Chamorro Mount, and the view from there is definitely worth a visit -beautiful\u00a0 panorama of the Serantes Valley, the city and Ferrol\u2019s estuary. The present temple is from the end of the fifteenth century or the beginning of the sixteenth. There are different versions of the origin of the name of Chamorro. The most \u201cpopular” one is that an endangered fisherman shouted in Galician \u201cxa morro\u201d (I\u2019m about to die)\u00a0 and he was then helped (saved) by the Virgin.<\/p>\n
It is always exciting to discover new places, so on my free time i went to Ortigueira, wich in my opinion is the most marvelous village so far. It has everything – mountains, river, beautiful beaches, impressive cliffs and the most extensive estuary in all of Northern Galicia. It was such a plesure to hike there,by the way.\u00a0Will visit once more.<\/p>\n
??\u00a0La semana pasada pas\u00f3 literalmente volando sin darnos cuenta, entre el trabajo que hab\u00eda que hacer en la oficina y fuera de ella. Fuimos a Pontedeume, donde logramos \u201catrapar\u201d al primer peregrino para una breve entrevista de un par de minutos. Tambi\u00e9n comimos tortillas espa\u00f1olas tradicionales s\u00faper ricas. El 15 de agosto (el D\u00eda de la Asunci\u00f3n o d\u00eda de la Virgen) es un d\u00eda para celebrar en Espa\u00f1a, as\u00ed que no desperdiciamos ni un d\u00eda y junto con los voluntarios de Palas de Rei hicimos una peque\u00f1a caminata a la Ermita de Chamorro, lo que se encuentra en el monte Chamorro, y la vista desde all\u00ed es sin duda digna de visitar -hermosa panor\u00e1mica del Valle de Serantes, la ciudad y la r\u00eda de Ferrol. El templo actual es de finales del siglo XV o principios del XVI. Existen diferentes versiones sobre el origen del nombre de Chamorro. La m\u00e1s \u201cpopular\u201d es que un pescador en peligro de extinci\u00f3n grit\u00f3 en gallego \u201cxa morro\u201d (estoy a punto de morir) y luego fue socorrido (salvado) por la Virgen.<\/p>\n
Siempre es emocionante descubrir nuevos lugares, as\u00ed que en mi tiempo libre fui a Ortigueira, que en mi opini\u00f3n es el pueblo m\u00e1s maravilloso hasta ahora. Lo tiene todo: monta\u00f1a, r\u00edo, hermosas playas, impresionantes acantilados y la r\u00eda m\u00e1s extensa de todo el norte de Galicia.
