First impressions from the conversations with pilgrims<\/strong><\/p>\n

Most of the Spanish pilgrims come to Galicia for its famously delicious food and see Camino as a way to have peaceful holidays with their family or friends. Their goal is to ejoy beautiful views, relax and escape the heat which in August exhausts the rest of Spain. At least in the English way, Spaniards do not tend to come with a religious or spiritual motivation. Or at least, it is a secondary motivation. . .<\/p>\n

On the other hand, foreing pilgrims that I have met (coming from USA, Italy, Finland, Denmark) are said to have spiritual reasons – they come after troubles they have experienced in life, searching for some answers, needing reflection on certain issues or just being open for new connections on the way. They are also seem to be more fascinated with the religious history behind Camino. Supposedly, these are the reasons why there are more solo travelers among piligrims from other countries than from Spain.<\/p>\n

It is a pleasure to learn from every pilgrim on the way. Each of them has something to offer. So far, the most precious thing I have learnt was a story behind the rocks that are being left on the signs of Camino. It is believed that if you have any issue or something is troubling you, you can take a rock, put it on the sign and leave it behind as you continue walking further. I think it is a beautiful metaphor that may inspire us to move on.<\/p>\n

Primeras impresiones de las conversaciones con peregrinos<\/strong><\/p>\n

La mayor\u00eda de los peregrinos espa\u00f1oles vienen a Galicia por su famosa y deliciosa comida y ven el Camino como una forma de pasar unas vacaciones tranquilas con su familia o amigos. Su objetivo es disfrutar de hermosas vistas, relajarse y huir del calor que en agosto agota al resto de Espa\u00f1a. Al menos en el camino ingl\u00e9s, los espa\u00f1oles no suelen venir con una motivaci\u00f3n religiosa o espiritual. O al menos, es una motivaci\u00f3n secundaria. . .<\/p>\n

Por otro lado, los peregrinos extranjeros que he conocido (procedentes de EE. UU., Italia, Finlandia, Dinamarca) tienen razones espirituales; vienen a buscar algunas respuestas tras algunos problemas que han experimentado en la vida, tambien necesitan reflexionar sobre ciertos temas o simplemente estar abierto a nuevas conexiones en el camino. Tambi\u00e9n parecen estar m\u00e1s fascinados con la historia religiosa detr\u00e1s de Camino. Supuestamente, estas son las razones por las que hay m\u00e1s viajeros solitarios entre los peregrinos de otros pa\u00edses que de Espa\u00f1a.<\/p>\n

Es un placer aprender de cada peregrino en el camino. Cada uno de ellos tiene algo que ofrecer. Hasta ahora, lo m\u00e1s preciado que he aprendido ha sido una historia detr\u00e1s de las rocas que se est\u00e1n dejando en las se\u00f1ales de Camino. Se cree que si tienes alg\u00fan problema o algo te preocupa, puedes coger una piedra, ponerla en el letrero y dejarla atr\u00e1s mientras contin\u00faa caminando. Creo que es una hermosa met\u00e1fora que puede inspirarnos a seguir adelante.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
