{"id":2246,"date":"2022-08-25T12:02:33","date_gmt":"2022-08-25T10:02:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.xacobeando.eu\/el-camino-sobre-ruedas\/"},"modified":"2022-11-08T10:58:19","modified_gmt":"2022-11-08T09:58:19","slug":"el-camino-sobre-ruedas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.xacobeando.eu\/en\/el-camino-sobre-ruedas\/","title":{"rendered":"El Camino sobre ruedas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>ES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Esta semana ha sido un poco especial ya que hemos acompa\u00f1ado a los peregrinos del grupo ASCM, una asociaci\u00f3n sociocultural que tiene como objetivo la plena integraci\u00f3n de las personas con discapacidad. El grupo estaba compuesto por 5 peregrinos de movilidad reducida que iban en silla de ruedas, sus acompa\u00f1antes y otros voluntarios. Ven\u00edan de diferentes partes de Espa\u00f1a, como Jerez de la Frontera y Barcelona, as\u00ed como de Ferrol.<\/p>\n<p>Los voluntarios de Xacobeando estuvimos con ellos durante dos etapas, desde el inicio del Camino en Ferrol hasta Neda y el segundo d\u00eda desde Fene a Pontedeume. Nuestra funci\u00f3n fue ayudarles a pasar por los tramos en los que la accesibilidad no era la m\u00e1s adecuada para ellos, tomar nota de esos puntos para poder localizarlos en el mapa y comunicarlos a los supervisores y dar compa\u00f1\u00eda y charla durante el recorrido.<\/p>\n<p>Aunque el Camino Ingl\u00e9s es uno de los m\u00e1s accesibles para realizar en estas condiciones, hubo varios momentos en los que hab\u00eda que empujar a los peregrinos hacia arriba en las cuestas o para pasar por las hendiduras que hab\u00eda en el terreno. La tierra suelta y las rocas tambi\u00e9n supusieron un problema porque hac\u00edan resbalar a las ruedas o provocaban que las sillas se quedaran atascadas. Varios de ellos tuvieron problemas con la bater\u00eda de sus sillas, ya que se gastaron antes de finalizar la etapa y tuvieron que terminarla en furgoneta.<\/p>\n<p>A pesar de todas estas dificultades, la actitud de los peregrinos era admirable porque se les notaba las ganas y la ilusi\u00f3n de hacer el Camino y siempre estaban haciendo bromas y dispuestos a afrontar cualquier obst\u00e1culo que nos encontr\u00e1ramos. Esa energ\u00eda la transmit\u00edan al resto del grupo y, gracias a ello, el ambiente fue muy agradable.<\/p>\n<p>En conclusi\u00f3n, personalmente ha sido una experiencia \u00fanica que, si no hubiera sido por Xacobeando, quiz\u00e1s no habr\u00eda realizado nunca. De ella me quedo con la sensaci\u00f3n de sentirme \u00fatil y que, sin mi ayuda, ni las de los dem\u00e1s participantes, los peregrinos no habr\u00edan podido realizar el Camino. Tambi\u00e9n me parece importante destacar su valent\u00eda puesto que no han permitido que sus limitaciones les impidan realizar una experiencia como el Camino de Santiago.<\/p>\n<p><strong>EN<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This week has been a bit special as we have accompanied the pilgrims of the ASCM group, a socio-cultural association that aims to fully integrate people with disabilities. The group was composed of 5 pilgrims with reduced mobility who were in wheelchairs, their companions and other volunteers. They came from different parts of Spain, such as Jerez de la Frontera and Barcelona, as well as Ferrol.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Xacobeando volunteers were with them during two stages, from the beginning of the Camino in Ferrol to Neda and the second day from Fene to Pontedeume. Our role was to help them to pass through the sections where the accessibility was not the most suitable for them, to take note of those points to locate them on the map and communicate them to the supervisors and to give company and talk during the route.<\/p>\n<p>Although the English Way is one of the most accessible to walk in these conditions, there were several moments when pilgrims had to be pushed up slopes or to pass through cracks in the terrain. Loose soil and rocks were also a problem as they caused wheels to slip or chairs to get stuck. Several of them had problems with their wheelchair batteries, which ran out before the end of the stage and they had to finish the stage in a van.<\/p>\n<p>Despite all these difficulties, the attitude of the pilgrims was admirable because you could see their desire and enthusiasm to do the Camino and they were always making jokes and willing to face any obstacle we encountered. This energy was transmitted to the rest of the group and, thanks to this, the atmosphere was very pleasant.<\/p>\n<p>In conclusion, personally it has been a unique experience that, if it had not been for Xacobeando, perhaps I would never have done it. From it I keep the feeling of feeling useful and that, without my help, nor that of the other participants, the pilgrims would not have been able to do the Camino.
