On Fridays there are not many peoples in albergues (hostels) since pilgrims try to get to Santiago by the end of the week. Thus, we have more time to talk to them and learn about their experiences from the Camino (St. James Way).<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Omar, pilgrim from Logro\u00f1o started his Camino in Ponferrada. It\u00b4s his second time doing the Camino but last time he comple<\/span>ted the first part from French border town Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port till\u00a0 Logro\u00f1o. His motivation to embark on this adve<\/span>nture is to challenge himself and do some reflections while doing the Camino.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Camino has be<\/span>en a great learning experience for Omar. It taught him something very important: \u201cI feel that I am much stronger and capable to do more. I have more confidence in myself\u201d.<\/span>\"\"<\/p>\n

Another pilgrim, Denis, started his Camino very spontaneously getting ready in four days. Walking alone, he managed to meet other people and make friends on his way. He pointed out the advantages of doing Camino on his own as you always can share your way with someone but then continue as you feel like. The Camino has been a great opportunity to come across a mix of different personalities of various cultures but, primarily, see Spanish people from different regions ending up at one place united by the same goal:\u201cWhat mostly attracted my attention is an incredibly wide range of people on the way\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

Enrique, a pilgrim from Gand\u00eda, had his first experience with Camino back in 2016 and wanted to do it in four years but the COVID pandemic and other obstacles prevented him from doing it. Last year after having an accident on his way he had to give up and come back home. This time he is determined to reach the end starting his walk from Villafranca. He thinks that the French Way is the most authentic one that\u00b4s why he chose it.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Enrique highlighted that nowadays there are more \u201ctourgrims\u201d rather than real pilgrims. These are tourists that do the Camino with travel agencies, sometimes going on the buses and using backpack transfer services. This is the reason why the Camino is losing its initial religious meaning with more businesses and their economic interests dominating in this sector. Today many people do the Camino following the promotion or to be trendy but in Enrique\u00b4s opinion, a true pilgrim should be required to do more that just completing a 100-km route (a required minimum to get the certificate).<\/span><\/p>\n

Camino gives you time to think and reflect. Moreover, its an opportunity to share: \u201cYou have your way that you walk alone but there are always people with whom you can share your experiences, opinions, food, drinks and much more\u2026\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

And if you had been doing the Camino, would you have chosen the French Way as well? We\u00a0 hope that these stories will inspire you to follow the example of our pilgrims.<\/span><\/p>\n

Los viernes en los albergues no hay mucha gente, los peregrinos intentan llegar a Santiago el fin de semana por eso tenemos m\u00e1s tiempo para charlar y aprender m\u00e1s sobre sus experiencias del Camino.<\/span><\/p>\n

Omar, peregrino de Logro\u00f1o, empez\u00f3 el Camino en Ponferrada. Era su segunda vez haciendolo. Hace unos a\u00f1os hizo otra parte del Camino desde Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port hasta Logro\u00f1o. A \u00e9l el Camino franc\u00e9s le parece m\u00e1s f\u00e1cil con m\u00e1s posibilidades de encontrar a otra gente. Su motivaci\u00f3n para hacer el camino es un desaf\u00edo personal, reflexionar y pensar en el Camino.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"El Camino se ha convertido en un gran aprendizaje para Omar. El Camino ense\u00f1\u00f3 a Omar algo muy importante: “Yo\u00a0 me siento m\u00e1s fuerte y m\u00e1s capaz, tengo m\u00e1s confianza en m\u00ed mismo\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

Otro peregrino, Denis, empez\u00f3 su camino de una forma muy espont\u00e1nea, se prepar\u00f3 en cuatro d\u00edas y decidi\u00f3 irse. Caminando solo logr\u00f3 encontrar otros peregrinos y se hicieron amigos durante esta ruta. Not\u00f3 las ventajas que hay cuando haces el Camino sin compa\u00f1eros porque puedes siempre compartir la ruta con alguien pero despu\u00e9s seguir como prefieras. El Camino fue una gran oportunidad para encontrar a una mezcla de personas de diferentes culturas pero sobre todo a los espa\u00f1oles de regiones diferentes que acabaron en el mismo lugar con un objetivo com\u00fan: \u201cLo que m\u00e1s me ha llamado la atenci\u00f3n, diferentes tipos de gente”.<\/span><\/p>\n

Enrique, peregrino de Gand\u00eda (Valencia) t\u00favo su primer experiencia con el Camino en 2016\u00a0 y quer\u00eda hacerlo en cuatro veranos pero el COVID y otros obst\u00e1culos no le dejaron hacerlo. El a\u00f1o pasado un accidente en el Camino le hizo volver a casa pero esta vez est\u00e1 determinado a terminarlo andando desde . Cree que el Camino franc\u00e9s es el original por eso eligi\u00f3 esta ruta.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Enrique es monitor de un grupo del <\/span>Movimiento Scout Cat\u00f3lico <\/span>de Valencia y le gustan las monta\u00f1as y retos personales, tanto f\u00edsicos como espirituales.\u00a0<\/span>Para \u00e9l el Camino es superaci\u00f3n lo que se puede superar en muchos aspectos. Al mismo tiempo Enrique aprendi\u00f3 que el Camino, al igual que la monta\u00f1a, te dice cuando hay que parar. Tienes que darte cuenta si no puedes seguir pero siempre si quieres, puedes, y tienes que hacerlo.<\/p>\n

Enrique not\u00f3 que hoy en d\u00eda hay m\u00e1s turigrinos que peregrinos, los turistas que vienen con agencias de viaje, y por eso el sentido religioso del Camino se pierde con la parte lucrativa, comercio negocios que dominan en este sector.\u00a0<\/span>Mucha gente lo hace por la publicidad, pero en su opini\u00f3n, para recibir la Compostela es necesario hacer m\u00e1s esfuerzo que solo caminar 100 km desde Sarria. <\/span><\/p>\n

El Camino te da tiempo para reflexionar y es una oportunidad de compartir: \u201cT\u00fa tienes tu camino, t\u00fa vas solo, pero siempre hay m\u00e1s gente con quien puedes compartir experiencias, comentarios, comidas, bebida y mucho m\u00e1s\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n
