{"id":3688,"date":"2022-10-17T14:39:34","date_gmt":"2022-10-17T12:39:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.xacobeando.eu\/rua-cooperative-experience\/"},"modified":"2022-11-16T14:30:09","modified_gmt":"2022-11-16T13:30:09","slug":"rua-cooperative-experience","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.xacobeando.eu\/en\/rua-cooperative-experience\/","title":{"rendered":"The &#8220;Cooperativa R\u00faa&#8221; experience"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>??\u00a0On October 13 a part of our team visited local winery &#8220;<span class=\"goog-text-highlight\">Cooperativa R\u00faa<\/span>&#8221; that is producing commercial wines such as &#8220;Rua&#8221; and &#8220;<span class=\"goog-text-highlight\">Pingadelo <\/span>&#8221; since 1967. The &#8220;<span class=\"goog-text-highlight\">Cooperativa R\u00faa&#8221; is one of the first cooperatives created in Galicia and the first Valdeorras winery to produce Menc\u00eda in the appellation. We found interesting the fact that the winery as a cooperative is a shared platform for local viticulturists to come together and produce the wine joining their forces. The &#8220;Cooperativa R\u00faa&#8221; is m<\/span><span class=\"\">ade up of 400 viticulturist partners that are supported by cooperative&#8217;s technical team. Their mission is &#8220;to carry out all kinds of operations aimed at making better use of the partners&#8217; farms, improving the living conditions of the agricultural population and development of the rural environment&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>During the visit we learnt not only about<span class=\"\"> the history of the &#8220;Cooperativa R\u00faa&#8221; but also about their activities until now. We <\/span>were exploring the facilities of the winery that included production lines starting from receiving grapes from viticulturists, continuing with centrifuges, seperators and control desks in order to prepare grapes for fermentation. It is important to mention that they still use the same infrastructure that was there since the moment of launching the company. We were introduced with the unique wall-built in fermentation stations and wine storages that form most of the facilities of the winery. The winery was built in last century inspired by a project of psychiatric hospital so that all the acitvities of winery and workers could bee overseen. It explains the peculiar shape of the winery with a round shaped central production line and fermentation corridors facing 4 directions from there.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 848px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-3688-1\" width=\"848\" height=\"480\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/mp4\" src=\"https:\/\/www.xacobeando.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/WhatsApp-Video-2022-10-15-at-11.21.13-AM.mp4?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.xacobeando.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/WhatsApp-Video-2022-10-15-at-11.21.13-AM.mp4\">https:\/\/www.xacobeando.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/WhatsApp-Video-2022-10-15-at-11.21.13-AM.mp4<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<p>On the ground floor there is a small laboratory where they do tests for wine and also have an archieve of all the varieties of wines they had produced in the past. Apart from that they also offer an oportunity to buy wines produced in the last year.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"\">They try to base their mission on values that also d<\/span>efines the sustainability of the company and the environment in which they carry out their activities. We were introduced with the principles of circular economy of the company that include the composting of the grape residues and passing them back to viticulturists thus mitigating the environmental impact by avoiding creating unnecessary waste and bringing back the nutrients to the soil.<\/p>\n<p>We are grateful for the unique oportunity of visiting the winery and happy to be a part of Valdeorras community during these two months at the project.<\/p>\n<p>Hasta luego, amigos!<\/p>\n<p>?? El pasado 13 de octubre una parte de nuestro equipo visit\u00f3 la bodega local &#8220;Cooperativa R\u00faa&#8221; que elabora vinos comerciales como &#8220;Rua&#8221; y &#8220;Pingadelo&#8221; desde 1967. La &#8220;Cooperativa R\u00faa&#8221; es una de las primeras cooperativas creadas en Galicia y la primera de Valdeorras bodega para elaborar Menc\u00eda en la denominaci\u00f3n. Nos pareci\u00f3 interesante el hecho de que la bodega como cooperativa es una plataforma compartida para que los viticultores locales se re\u00fanan y elaboren el vino uniendo sus fuerzas. La Cooperativa R\u00faa est\u00e1 formada por 400 socios viticultores que se apoyan en el equipo t\u00e9cnico de la cooperativa. Su misi\u00f3n es \u201crealizar todo tipo de operaciones encaminadas al mejor aprovechamiento de las fincas de los socios, la mejora de las condiciones de vida de la poblaci\u00f3n agr\u00edcola y el desarrollo del medio rural\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Durante la visita conocimos no solo la historia de la &#8220;Cooperativa R\u00faa&#8221; sino tambi\u00e9n sus actividades hasta la actualidad. Estuvimos explorando las instalaciones de la bodega que inclu\u00edan l\u00edneas de producci\u00f3n que iban desde la recepci\u00f3n de la uva de los viticultores, continuando con centr\u00edfugas, separadoras y pupitres de control para preparar la uva para la fermentaci\u00f3n. Es importante mencionar que a\u00fan utilizan la misma infraestructura que exist\u00eda desde el momento del lanzamiento de la empresa. Nos presentaron las exclusivas estaciones de fermentaci\u00f3n y almacenamiento de vino empotradas en la pared que forman la mayor\u00eda de las instalaciones de la bodega. La bodega fue construida en el siglo pasado inspirada en un proyecto de hospital psiqui\u00e1trico para poder supervisar todas las actividades de bodega y trabajadores. Explica la forma peculiar de la bodega con una l\u00ednea de producci\u00f3n central de forma redonda y corredores de fermentaci\u00f3n orientados en 4 direcciones desde all\u00ed.<\/p>\n<p>En la planta baja hay un peque\u00f1o laboratorio donde hacen pruebas de vino y tambi\u00e9n tienen un archivo de todas las variedades de vinos que han producido en el pasado. Aparte de eso, tambi\u00e9n ofrecen la oportunidad de comprar vinos producidos en el \u00faltimo a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n<p>Intentan fundamentar su misi\u00f3n en valores que definen tambi\u00e9n la sostenibilidad de la empresa y del entorno en el que desarrollan sus actividades.
