ENGLISH<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s been two weeks here in Ribeira and Valga and they have been more than eye opening. So far we have gotten to see three different sections of the Camino de Santiago in different conditions. We walked a section of the Portuguese Camino\u00a0 under a pleasant breeze, another part of the Portuguese Camino accompanied by three pilgrims from Ireland sharing their experience, and the Barbanza Camino \u201cA Orixe\u201d while collecting rubbish under the scorching sun, an unprecedented phenomenon in the area. We also visited a pilgrim hostel where we\u2019ll be volunteering at least twice a week.<\/span><\/p>\n

Furthermore, we met the people of both the Ribeira and the Valga councils, who gave us a heartwarming welcome. We\u2019re confident that this collaboration in combination with all the changes we want to make, as volunteers, will be even more impactful.<\/span><\/p>\n

Except for walking the ways and conversing with pilgrims we have also done a lot of brainstorming during office hours in order to see how we can further enhance the purpose of this project. We have planned quizzes, created posters, and various different activities in order to engage more people and to make more information available. <\/span><\/p>\n

We\u2019re so excited for the weeks to come and all the activities we have planned!<\/span><\/p>\n

SPANISH<\/strong><\/p>\n

Llevamos dos semanas aqu\u00ed en Ribeira y Valga y nos ha servido para abrir los ojos. Hasta ahora hemos realizado tres tramos del Camino de Santiago en diferentes condiciones. Anduvimos un tramo del Camino Portugues bajo una agradable brisa. Por otro lado, realizamos otro tramo del Camino Portugues con tres peregrinas de Irlanda las cuales nos compartieron su experiencia. Y por \u00faltimo el Camino de Barbanza \u201cA Orixe\u201d lo realizamos recogiendo basura bajo un terrible sol abrasador, nos ocurri\u00f3 algo inesperado ya que encontramos inmobiliario en medio del campo pero lo pudimos resolver. Tambi\u00e9n visitamos un hotel de peregrinos donde vamos a realizar parte del voluntariado dos veces a la semana.\u00a0 Va a ser muy divertido!<\/span><\/p>\n

Adem\u00e1s, tuvimos la oportunidad de conocer a las personas que trabajan en el Ayuntamiento de Ribeira y Valga, quienes nos recibieron con los brazos abiertos. Nosotros sabemos que la labor que realizamos como voluntarios tendr\u00e1 un gran impacto tanto a nivel personal como medioambiental.<\/span><\/p>\n

A parte de andar y conversar con peregrinos tambi\u00e9n hemos debatido varias ideas en la oficina para ver en qu\u00e9 podemos mejorar para conseguir los objetivos de este proyecto. Hemos realizado cuestionarios, creado varios p\u00f3sters y diferentes actividades para hacer visible cierta informaci\u00f3n y para animar a m\u00e1s gente.<\/span><\/p>\n
