?? In this article I will write about my last two weeks in bonita Triacastela.<\/p>\n

In two weeks me and my group experienced a lot. We met a lot of people. We met politicians, representatives of the Xunta, and talked about our experience as volunteers. Also we met many pilgrims, there where even days, when all Triacastela accommodations were full. In one of these days there where 5 people, who after not finding free bed, needed to go more than 1 km further to an albergue with free places. These pilgrims were very tired and many had small injuries like blisters, so me and my friend Silvia offered to help carry some of their bags to hostel. It was a peaceful and memorable walk. This was definitely one of the highlights of the last two weeks, because for us it was a small gesture, but for them it meant a lot.<\/p>\n

Recently (yesterday) we met a lot of younger Triacastela residents – children. We played games with them, even played a Latvian game \u201cDiena un nakts\u201d (day and night). The activities were full of smiles and laughs. At start we introduced ourselves and played games, later kids colored pictures with multilingual words in them and almost all of us painted our hand on paper, where my talented team had drawn a lovely tree. It was great to spent time with them, even with the language barrier we found a way to communicate.<\/p>\n

Between these two meetings we had a lot of other experiences. We had a multicultural evening with pilgrims where we learned about traditional Spanish game \u201cParchis\u201d, and talked to pilgrims about our countries. Speaking with people about my country makes me feel more proud of it and patriotic.<\/p>\n

We also spent some time in the Camino. We made it more sustainable with picking up garbage. We had an eye opening experience when we walked part of the Camino with blindfolds and needed to rely on other people\u2019s help and guidance. It helped us better realize how inclusive or difficult the Camino was to people who are blind. It made me appreciate more the Camino and the bonitas<\/em> views all around me.<\/p>\n

This week was full of new experiences, interactions and memories, that\u2019s probably why these two weeks went by very quickly. It\u2019s hard to look at the calendar and not get sad realizing\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 that there are only three weeks left in this amazing place with very special people around me. Since first days these people and this place have felt like family and home.<\/p>\n

??\u00a0En este art\u00edculo voy a escribir sobre mis \u00faltimas dos semanas en bonita Triacastela.<\/p>\n

En dos semanas, mi grupo y yo experimentamos mucho. Conocimos a mucha gente. Nos reunimos con pol\u00edticos, representantes de la Xunta, y hablamos de nuestra experiencia como voluntarios. Tambi\u00e9n nos encontramos con muchos peregrinos, all\u00ed incluso d\u00edas, cuando todos los alojamientos de Triacastela estaban llenos. En uno de estos d\u00edas estaban 5 personas, que al no encontrar cama libre, necesitaban recorrer m\u00e1s de 1 km m\u00e1s hasta un albergue con plazas libres. Estos peregrinos estaban muy cansados \u200b\u200by muchos ten\u00edan peque\u00f1as heridas como ampollas, as\u00ed que mi amiga Silvia y yo nos ofrecimos a ayudar a llevar algunas de sus maletas al albergue. Fue un paseo tranquilo y memorable. Este fue definitivamente uno de los mejores momentos de las \u00faltimas dos semanas, porque para nosotros fue un peque\u00f1o gesto, pero para ellos signific\u00f3 mucho.<\/p>\n

Recientemente (ayer) conocimos a muchos residentes m\u00e1s j\u00f3venes de Triacastela: ni\u00f1os. Jugamos con ellos, incluso jugamos un juego let\u00f3n “Diena un nakts” (d\u00eda y noche). Las actividades estuvieron llenas de sonrisas y risas. Al principio nos presentamos y jugamos, luego los ni\u00f1os colorearon im\u00e1genes con palabras en varios idiomas y casi todos pintamos nuestra mano en papel, donde mi talentoso equipo hab\u00eda dibujado un hermoso \u00e1rbol. Fue genial pasar tiempo con ellos, incluso con la barrera del idioma encontramos una forma de comunicarnos.<\/p>\n

Entre estas dos reuniones tuvimos muchas otras experiencias. Tuvimos una velada multicultural con los peregrinos donde aprendimos sobre el juego tradicional espa\u00f1ol \u201cParchis\u201d, y hablamos con los peregrinos sobre nuestros pa\u00edses. Hablar con la gente sobre mi pa\u00eds me hace sentir m\u00e1s orgullosa y patri\u00f3tica.<\/p>\n

Tambi\u00e9n pasamos un rato en el Camino. Lo hicimos m\u00e1s sostenible con la recolecci\u00f3n de basura. Tuvimos una experiencia reveladora cuando recorrimos parte del Camino con los ojos vendados y necesit\u00e1bamos contar con la ayuda y orientaci\u00f3n de otras personas. Nos ayud\u00f3 a darnos cuenta de lo inclusivo o dif\u00edcil que era el Camino para las personas ciegas. Me hizo apreciar m\u00e1s el Camino y las bonitas vistas a mi alrededor.<\/p>\n

Esta semana estuvo llena de nuevas experiencias, interacciones y recuerdos, probablemente por eso estas dos semanas pasaron muy r\u00e1pido. Es dif\u00edcil mirar el calendario y no entristecerme al darme cuenta\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 de que solo quedan tres semanas en este incre\u00edble lugar con gente muy especial a mi alrededor. Desde los primeros d\u00edas estas personas y este lugar se han sentido como una familia y un hogar.<\/p>\n
