?? The arrival in the city of Santiago de Compostela marks the end of the religious “Way”. Many pilgrims, however, prefer, before leaving and leaving Spain, to extend their stay in the verdant and mysterious Galicia for a few days to travel and reach “Cape Finisterre” (called in Galician “Cabo Fisterra”). The path to Cape Finisterre (\u201cFinis Terrae\u201d or \u201cend of the earth\u201d) is a different path, certainly pagan, but which allows us to continue to admire the landscapes, beaches and beautiful places of the Galician coast. Tradition, handed down over the centuries by ancient medieval pilgrims, has it that after reaching the city of Santiago de Compostela, having prayed at the tomb of the holy apostle of Jesus, it is necessary to purify oneself with a bath in the icy waters of the Atlantic Ocean in Finisterre. Another phase of the ancient rite of purification, now prohibited, consisted of burning the clothes (or parts of them) worn on the Camino de Santiago, witnessing the sunset at the furthest point of the European coast, Fisterra.<\/p>\n
