??\u00a0Hello, I am Hanna. I am 23 years old and come from Estonia. This is my 6th day in the XacoBeando project. I arrived early in the morning on the 2nd of September after a tiring 28-hour trip from Tallinn. Although I was not in good health after the difficult trip for the first couple of days, all my new wonderful companions made my tiredness almost unnoticeable. I felt comfortable opening myself up and sharing my perspectives.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The three days of training in Santiago de Compostela were full of positivity and pleasant surprises. Our wonderful facilitators Santi and Malle invited us to play games that let us get to know each other (and ourselves) and learn about the project in a fun way. For me, however, the most fantastic part of the past week was visiting the Santiago de Compostela old town and taking a guided tour to see the adored cathedral and other historical sights.<\/span><\/p>\n

I felt quite sad and a little bit scared to leave the large group and our tutors behind when the training days ended, to go into the unknown. We still need to get to know and used to each other in this new small team of six people but I do believe that our common goal of helping the people in our new locality and the pilgrims who pass through here will unite and make us closer in time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As a lover of history, I was really hoping to become part of the team in the historical city of Lugo and that\u2019s exactly where I was placed (\u00a1Viva!). Thus far I have been able to briefly browse the city and conjointly think of ways to be useful to the local people and improve the experience of pilgrims. I have not yet had a chance to browse the beautiful nature surrounding Lugo. I can see some distant mountains from the city and cannot wait to go there on one of our fieldwork-days.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I came here in hopes to gain some emotional and spiritual fulfilment by helping pilgrims reach their own spiritual goals and to help those in need. I am excited to get to know some pilgrims, their motivations and thoughts and to give back to the people of Lugo, whose kindness I am more and more convinced of every day.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Llegu\u00e9 temprano en la ma\u00f1ana del 2 de septiembre despu\u00e9s de un agotador viaje de 28 horas desde Tallin. Aunque no gozaba de buena salud despu\u00e9s del dif\u00edcil viaje durante los primeros d\u00edas, todos mis nuevos y maravillosos compa\u00f1eros hicieron que mi cansancio fuera casi imperceptible. Me sent\u00ed c\u00f3moda abri\u00e9ndome y compartiendo mis perspectivas.<\/p>\n

Los tres d\u00edas de la formaci\u00f3n a la llegada en Santiago de Compostela estuvieron llenos de positividad y gratas sorpresas. Nuestros maravillosos facilitadores Santi y Malle nos invitaron a jugar juegos que nos permitieron conocernos (ya nosotros mismos) y aprender sobre el proyecto de una manera divertida. Para m\u00ed, sin embargo, la parte m\u00e1s fant\u00e1stica de la semana pasada fue visitar el casco antiguo de Santiago de Compostela y hacer una visita guiada para ver la adorada catedral y otros lugares de inter\u00e9s hist\u00f3rico.<\/p>\n

Me sent\u00ed bastante triste y un poco asustada de dejar atr\u00e1s al grupo grande y a nuestros facilitadores cuando terminaron los d\u00edas de la formaci\u00f3n, para ir a lo desconocido. A\u00fan nos falta conocernos y acostumbrarnos en este nuevo peque\u00f1o equipo de seis personas pero s\u00ed creo que nuestro objetivo com\u00fan de ayudar a la gente de nuestra nueva localidad y a los peregrinos que pasan por aqu\u00ed nos unir\u00e1 y nos acercar\u00e1 en tiempo.<\/p>\n

Como amante de la historia, ten\u00eda muchas esperanzas de formar parte del equipo de la hist\u00f3rica ciudad de Lugo y ah\u00ed me ubicaron (\u00a1Viva!). Hasta ahora he podido recorrer brevemente la ciudad y juntos pensar en maneras de ser \u00fatil a la gente local y mejorar la experiencia de los peregrinos. Todav\u00eda no he tenido la oportunidad de pasear por la hermosa naturaleza que rodea a Lugo. Puedo ver algunas monta\u00f1as distantes de la ciudad y no puedo esperar para ir all\u00ed en uno de nuestros d\u00edas de trabajo de campo.<\/p>\n

Vine aqu\u00ed con la esperanza de obtener algo de satisfacci\u00f3n emocional y espiritual al ayudar a los peregrinos a alcanzar sus propias metas espirituales y ayudar a los que lo necesiten. Me emociona conocer a algunos peregrinos, sus motivaciones y pensamientos y dar lo que pueda a los lucenses, de cuya amabilidad cada d\u00eda estoy m\u00e1s convencida.<\/p>\n
