<\/p>\n??\u00a0On Friday, the 14th of October, the group of volunteers in Lugo visited the Colegio Publico Paradai, a multicultural primary school, to teach the children about the volunteers’ national countries and also about sustainable lifestyle through playful activities.<\/p>\n

We worked with two groups of children. To the first, we introduced Greece and Slovakia and played some games with them; to the second, we introduced Estonia and also played with them. After a while, however, the children became restless and so we moved on to the gym to make the games about sustainability more physically stimulating for them.<\/p>\n

The children were divided into two groups and had to race each other to move the right items of trash into the right bins using reach extenders, until all the “trash” had been picked up. After the first try, we re-checked the contents of the “bins” and explained to them why some of the contents were misplaced. After the explanation, the children played the game again and on the second time, made no mistakes. We were very proud of them.<\/p>\n

Overall, the children were very sweet and seemed to enjoy their time with us.\u00a0 Somewhat surprisingly, they were very interested in conversating with those of us who couldn’t speak Spanish and even insisted that the only non-Spanish-speaking person to explain to them the game about sorting trash. It was wonderful to see how well the children got along with each other, while being from different origins, and how welcoming they were to us, also.<\/p>\n
Most likely, we will visit them again soon, since in our group of volunteers there are representatives of three more countries \u2013 Italy, Spain and Latvia.<\/p>\n
??\u00a0El viernes 14 de octubre, el grupo de voluntarios de Lugo visit\u00f3 el Colegio P\u00fablico Paradai, una escuela primaria multicultural, para ense\u00f1ar a los ni\u00f1os sobre los pa\u00edses de origen de los voluntarios y tambi\u00e9n sobre el estilo de vida sostenible a trav\u00e9s de actividades l\u00fadicas.<\/p>\n
Trabajamos con dos grupos de ni\u00f1os. Al primero, les presentamos Grecia y Eslovaquia y jugamos algunos juegos con ellos; al segundo, les presentamos a Estonia y tambi\u00e9n jugamos con ellos. Despu\u00e9s de un tiempo, sin embargo, los ni\u00f1os se volvieron inquietos y pasamos al gimnasio para hacer que los juegos sobre sostenibilidad fueran m\u00e1s estimulantes f\u00edsicamente para ellos.<\/p>\n

Despu\u00e9s de la explicaci\u00f3n, los ni\u00f1os volvieron a jugar y en la segunda vez no cometieron errores. Est\u00e1bamos muy orgullosos de ellos.En general, los ni\u00f1os fueron muy dulces y parec\u00edan disfrutar su tiempo con nosotros. Sorprendentemente, estaban muy interesados \u200b\u200ben conversar con aquellos de nosotros que no pod\u00edamos hablar espa\u00f1ol e incluso insistieron en que la \u00fanica persona que no habla espa\u00f1ol les explicara el juego de clasificar la basura. Fue maravilloso ver lo bien que se llevaban los ni\u00f1os entre s\u00ed, aunque eran de diferentes or\u00edgenes, y lo acogedores que eran con nosotros tambi\u00e9n.<\/p>\n
Lo m\u00e1s probable es que volvamos a visitarlos pronto, ya que en nuestro grupo de voluntarios hay representantes de tres pa\u00edses m\u00e1s: Italia, Espa\u00f1a y Letonia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
