ENGLISH<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ever since these last couple of weeks, it has become apparent that the Town Hall of Valga would be a great collborator and this week has been no exception.<\/p>\n

Our week started a little earlier than expected this week, with a much anticipated boat trip. The boat followed the “Ruta del Mar de Arousa y R\u00edo Ulla”, which takes place only once a year and sails along the river. Its main purpose is to commemorate the arrival of the body Santiago apostle by sea, after his martyrdom in Jerusalem around 44 AC.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"\"Following this once in a lifetime experience, on Monday 18.07, we had the opportunity to partake in a radio show, hosted by none other than the Town Hall of Valga. We talked about topics ranging from our individual experiences in Spain as volunteers and tourists, to climatic differences between our individual countries of origin. It was definitely an intercultural\u00a0<\/em>conversation. After that we embarked on the Valga Camino once again, but this time we put up posters (that we very meticulously created) along the route with vital messages, in hopes that it would aid in the reduction of the obscene amounts of littering we, and everyone else, have witnessed. While doing that, other members of our team went out to collect rubbish.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday 07.19, our activities took a more\u00a0inclusive<\/em> turn. We visited CODI, a centre for disabled people. Except for making the acquaintance of some lovely individuals, we were also able to harness creativity by painting the walls and creating a lovely mural. Not to mention that by a lucky coincidence we got to be present at the birthday celebration of one of the women\u00a0 of the centre. Flora this year is for you. On this day we also started our activities at a pilgrim hostel. Busy times may vary significantly, but when it does get busy, it’s always good to have a couple extra hands on deck. It Except for helping the pilgrims, it’s amazing to hear some of their stories from their Camino\u00a0adventures<\/em>.<\/p>\n

This week continues to be full of collaborations on Wednesday 07.20. We got to walk the camino with children aged between 4 and 6 years old. They sure have a lot of energy. We engaged in various games and some conversations that one could have with a person who possesses the wild imagination that only a 4 year old child could have.<\/p>\n

All in all this week has been more than active and by consequence, immensely rewarding. The activities planned had such a vast variety of end goals, starting from inclusive and going to inclusive, and definitely very intercultural.<\/p>\n

Desde estas dos \u00faltimas semanas, sin duda el ayuntamiento de Valga est\u00e1 siendo un gran colaborador.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nuestra semana empez\u00f3 m\u00e1s temprano de lo esperado con un anticipado viaje en barco. El barco segui\u00f3 la “Ruta del Mar de Arousa y R\u00edo Ulla”, el cual tiene lugar una vez al a\u00f1o y navega junto al r\u00edo. El principal prop\u00f3sito es para conmemorar la llegada de los restos del Ap\u00f3stol Santiago por el mar, despu\u00e9s de su martirio en Jerusal\u00e9n sobre el 44 AC.<\/span><\/p>\n

Seguido de esta experiencia, el lunes tuvimos la oportunidad de participar en un show de radio presentado por uno de los que trabajan en el ayuntamiento de Valga. Nosotros hablamos sobre varios temas que van sobre nuestras experiencias individuales en Espa\u00f1a como voluntarios y turistas, las diferencias con la climatolog\u00eda entre los diferentes pa\u00edses de origen. Esto fue definitivamente una conversaci\u00f3n <\/span>intercultural<\/span><\/i>. Despu\u00e9s comenzamos el camino de Valga de nuevo pero esta vez con p\u00f3sters (meticulosamente creados) junto a la ruta con mensajes vitales,\u00a0 con la esperanza de reducir la cantidad de basura que toda la gente ve pero que no recoge. Mientras hac\u00edamos esto, otros miembros de nuestro equipo fueron a recoger basura.<\/span><\/p>\n

El martes realizamos una actividad inclusiva ya que visitamos el centro CODI, un centro para personas con discapacidad. Adem\u00e1s de conocer a personas encantadoras nosotros fuimos capaces de aprovechar la creatividad pintando un precioso mural. Por no mencionar la afortunada coincidencia de ser el cumplea\u00f1os de unas de las mujeres del centro. En este d\u00eda nosotros tambi\u00e9n empezamos a trabajar en el albergue con los peregrinos. El tiempo de trabajo puede variar significativamente pero cuando llegan peregrinos es bueno tener las manos libres. Es incre\u00edble escuchar algunas de las historias del camino.<\/span><\/p>\n

Esta semana contin\u00faa llena de eventos, el mi\u00e9rcoles tuvimos que hacer el camino con ni\u00f1os de edades comprendidas entre los 4 y 6 a\u00f1os. Ellos ten\u00edan mucha energ\u00eda. Nosotros participamos en varios juegos y tuvimos conversaciones con algunos de los ni\u00f1os los cuales dec\u00edan cosas ingeniosas.<\/span><\/p>\n

Todo lo de esta semana est\u00e1 siendo muy atractivo y por consiguiente, inmensamente reconfortante. Las actividades planeadas ten\u00edan una gran variedad de objetivos, empezando por la inclusividad y siguiendo con sostenibilidad, y terminando con interculturalidad.<\/span><\/p>\n
