ALBERGUES PÚBLICOS SIN PEREGRINOS

El Albergue de Ribadiso, uno de los dos hospedajes públicos con que cuenta Arzúa, tiene el honor de ser considerado uno de los más bonitos de Galicia. Enclavado en un área natural y con unas instalaciones que bien podrían pertenecer a un Pazo, pernoctar en él es todo un privilegio.

Es por ello que al comienzo del voluntariado nos parecía tan extraño que el Albergue de Ribadiso, que además forma parte de la red de albergues del Camino más transitado, el Francés, no cerrada cada noche con un “Completo”.

Hablando con Ana y María, las hospitaleras, nos cuentan que al buscar información en Internet sobre el Camino, en los diferentes foros se comenta la dificultad de encontrar plaza en los albergues de titularidad pública, por lo que los peregrinos se dirigen directamente a los diferentes albergues privados. Además, las mismas páginas establecen las etapas de forma rígida, siendo el núcleo de Arzúa la parada oficial. Todo esto provoca que el Peregrino no se plantee quedarse a disfrutar de este maravilloso enclave.

The Ribadiso Hostel, one of the two public lodgings that Arzúa has, has the honor of being considered one of the most beautiful in Galicia. Nestled in a natural area and with facilities that could well belong to a Pazo, spending the night in it is a privilege.

That is why at the beginning of the volunteering it seemed so strange to us that the Ribadiso Hostel, which is also part of the network of hostels on the busiest Camino, the French Way, did not close every night with a “Full”.

Speaking with Ana and María, the hospitaleras, they tell us that when looking for information on the Internet about the Camino, in the different forums the difficulty of finding a place in the publicly owned hostels is commented on, so the pilgrims go directly to the different private hostels. In addition, the same pages establish the stages in a rigid way, being the nucleus of Arzúa the official stop. All this means that the Pilgrim does not consider staying to enjoy this wonderful place.
